Scott Brown
Dean of Appliance Repair
(aka Samurai Appliance Repair Man)
Since 1996, I’ve run my own appliance repair business while helping other techs succeed through our tech support community, Appliantology.org, and over at my YouTube Channel. I created the first Core course in 2014 and have been teaching ever since.

Susan Brown
Dean of Students & Business Liaison
(aka Mrs. Samurai)
I’ve been Scott’s partner on all of his appliance repair businesses since the beginning. I handle all inquiries and manage enrollments and tuition payments. I also help to develop course content and assist students in the Ask the Teacher Forums.

Sam Brown
Professor of Appliance Repair Mastery
(aka Son of Samurai)
I’ve been repairing appliances beside my dad since I was a kid and have sponged up every ounce of his appliance repair mastery. I developed content for the Advanced courses, I teach and support students, and I’m the admin over at Appliantology.org.

Answers to Your Most-Asked Questions
How does online appliance repair training work?
Whether you need a more flexible way to train around your many responsibilities or a more affordable way to train on a tight budget (or both!), online appliance repair training has 6 key benefits compared to in-person training. The course is self-paced, meaning you can train wherever and whenever you want. Each course consists of several modules organized around a specific subject, and each module consists of several units or lessons, each with a quiz you must conquer to advance to the next unit or module. Click here to learn more about how online training works.
What about hands-on appliance repair training?
In order to be a skilled, profitable tech, you need to pair thorough brains-on training (which is what we offer) with some hands-on practice. Your brain tells your hands what to do, not the other way around, but we recognize that practice makes perfect. Click here to read how our students get that hands-on practice. And if you’re still not convinced that online training works, take a look through our reviews
How much does Core Appliance Repair Training cost?
Tuition for Core Appliance Repair Training is $850, since it is our most in-depth and essential course. You can save money on the cost of the course by enrolling in either the Technician’s Bundle (save $405) or Business Bundle (save $455).
What if I need more help on a lesson?
Simple. We are here to help with ANY question you have. Submit your questions to the Ask the Teacher Forum in the Core Appliance Repair module (or any module you’re working on) and Team Samurai will answer your question. We will give you the training, coaching and mentoring you need to become a master appliance tech yourself.
How long does Core Appliance Repair Training take to complete?
Because Core Appliance Repair Training is self-paced, the time to complete it varies with each student. In our experience, students require about 50-80 hours to complete the course. If you work at a steady pace, doing at least 4-6 lessons per week, you can complete the course in 2-3 months. We don’t recommend rushing through the training, because we want you to remember everything you learn and be able to apply it on the job.
What if I need more time to complete Core Appliance Repair Training? How long do I have access?
You can take as much time as you need to finish the training. Your initial access period to the course lasts one year if you enroll in a single course and two years if you enroll in a bundle. If you need access beyond that, we charge a very small monthly renewal fee. So if you need to, take your time with the training.
If I already have appliance repair experience, can I skip Core Appliance Repair Training?
Our Advanced Courses require a strong background in electrical troubleshooting and reading schematics, both of which are taught in Core Appliance Repair Training. We strongly encourage all students—novices and pros—to start here, though it is not required. If you’re not sure whether you should start with Core, take our You Don’t Know What You Don’t Know quiz.
